NEW Show at Garden Spot Village

For those in the Lancaster Area, I have a one man show at Garden Spot Village for the month of April. It consists of original watercolors and framed reproductions. There are 29 paintings hanging n the hall between the two main entrances.

Watercolors and the pace of life

When people look at my watercolors, they often say the seem peaceful and find themselves stopping for a minute to look and reflect on their life. You see, when I often see a building, maybe a front porch or an old basket that says something to me........and opens my eyes to a possible painting. I never see a painting in busy traffic or the hustle and bustle of a crowded city. Life is so busy today for everyone so I like to paint things that remind me living life at a slower pace. For example, when I see an old abandoned house that seems to raise questions like...who lived there or what their life was like? When I walked into our old barn that used to be a sheep farm many years ago, what was like in 1906 when it was built...or I looked out the back window at the lake and heard the geese honking. I want to try to capture that atmosphere in a painting with my brush. So if you find my paintings make you pause and raises a question like---where is my life going, what am I doing with my life and the pace I live, then let me know.
I am one painter who desires to listen to the still small voice of God. That He might lead me closer to Him. In doing so, maybe I can help someone else find that voice and His comfort. If you feel a desire to spend some time each day reflecting on what God can say to you, let me know and I can give you some help. Blessings Bruce
